Topic: License - Commercial usage
So I got currently the MDBootstrap Pro Version and I got the following situtation:
I'm offering web-service (making for customers websites) through an own website with an own (tiny) CMS I developed using MDBootstrap to make the Admin-Panel look fancy & alive. Now the question is when I develop and make a customer's website, would I be allowed to leave the source-files (especially for MD now) on the web-server of my customer? Or would I be allowed to sell my service but keeping the source - and just putting the compressed/minified .js/.css files on their web-server?
Would love to hear some helpful comments about that since I use MDBootstrap for core functionalities and in case both ways of using MDBootstrap would get "rejected" or marked as forbidden I would have to make an own version of it which would suck since it's quite large obiviously...
Cyall :)

Hi @Mateusz Leciejewski, I wanted to ask about the Material Design for Bootstrap (Free) & EBM Bootstrap Plugin license, I would love to know if its possible to use just the mdb.css and mdb.js files for your projects and if you wanted to use the product commercially (not selling the source code but for web development) is it necessary to get the pro version?

@Elijah Soladoye MDB Free is covered by MIT license. That basically means that it's free and unrestricted for personal and commercial use and you can create whatever you wish with it.

Dear @Omegaaaa,
Basically, our license forbids to create an end product that contains the source code of MDB. Customer buying end products cannot receive a copy of MDB PRO and can easily extract it from the products.
As long as source code isn't available for end-users (i.e. application hosted on your servers, mobile apps, etc.) it's ok to use MDB.
If still there's something unclear, please do not hesitate to contact us.
Kind regards, Mateusz

Hi @Mateusz Leciejewski,
thanks for your reply. My main goal was to keeping the source-code of MDBootstrap locally and only publishing / deploying to the customers web-server as minified .css/.js files (with Credits or any other information saying the Source-Code is made by using MDBootstrap Pro) - in case that shouldn't be allowed, would be an uglification of those files be fine?
Hope to hear from you soon

Hello @Omegaaaa,
Unfortunately, our license forbids CMS creation.
Kind regards, Mateusz
Omegaaaa commented 5 years ago
Where does that stands in your license that it explicitly forbids usage for CMS ?

@Omegaaaa you can find this information on the license page https://mdbootstrap.com/general/license/ it is listed in the table
