Topic: mdbAutoCompleter hides input
Ver 7.4.1 included:
- mdbAutoCompleter will now render along the top edge of the input when it won't fit below the input,
This is not good because the options are on top of the input, thus preventing the user so seeing its typing

Dear @mdb2
Yes, the user won't see the input field when he is typing something, but we have to do such feature to allow autocomplete dropdown to be rendered dynamically where it will fit.
If you have other, better solution - feel free to suggest. We'll think about it.
Best Regards,
Damian

Hi,
If there is no place below, then place above the top part of the input, move it up a bit, so that the input field will be visible

Please keep me updated

Also, when the list is above input and is filtered so that number of elements is reduced, it does not reach the input, ending with the list detached from the input

Dear @mdb2
Please don't refresh your tickets. We'll let you know if we'll change this behavior.
As I said before, this is correct behavior, and I don't even know if we will change it.
You will be informed if we'll change the behavior of the autocompleter dropdown.
Best Regards,
Damian

Hiding the input is by no means the expected behavior of any dropdown (or up) list especially not when performing a text search

Still input is hidden in ver 8
It does not make sense that the user cannot see what he is entering
You can try it here by allowing the user to enter a post but hiding the textarea
Please fix it or instruct me on what to do
Thanks

This problem will be fixed, we just don't know the ETA yet. We will update this thread when the fix will be available.

Fixing bugs should be before adding new features and capabilities.
It does not make sense that the user cannot see what he is entering
I ask you to pay more efforts towards making, the now mandatory, auto completer, bug free and usable
Thanks

Dear @mdb2
We're doing our best to provide you with as best product as we can. So as always - this problem will be resolved but it has undefined ETA.

Fixed in 8.1.1 !!
Pay attention though that when text is entered to the input, resulting in less filtered entries, since the top of the options box is fixed, the bottom is detached from the input field and the options hangs up above
itay pro answered 5 years ago
After update 8.2.0, things are better yet there are cases where the dropbox is detached from the input, especially when adding/removing letters from the input, resulting with the dropbox length to go up and down
Additionally, the position changes from top to bottom if, e.g. there is a place for only 2 lines. If there are 5 entries the dropbox will be above yet while narrowing the search, the dropbox moves to the bottom, not where expected
Bartosz Termena staff commented 5 years ago
We will take a closer look at that, and let you know when something changes.
Best, Bartosz.

Dear itay
Now the dropbox position is automatically calculated for each change of searched entries, so the position changes from top to bottom if, e.g. there is a place for only 2 lines. - this is the default behavior.
Best, Bartosz.
