LIGHTBOX with costum template

Topic: LIGHTBOX with costum template

Previous GITLAB history:

  • May 21. - create usses
  • May 22. - Konrad Stępień, We will upload new refactored lightbox component, and the new component has a public HTML structure for open lightbox. Like this: (...). Also, this component have new animations. Could you wait (2 weeks) to update this component? Or I will update old component for set col property.
  • May 22. - Look like great :), but i want to add this release in 2020 maj 29 (friday).For me it is also perferct if you push this in the dev branch (or other branch), but if this not possible a temporary solution will be a col input.
  • May 27. - Konrad Stępień, Hi, I did make this change, but still, we have to wait for the release.
  • Jun 15. - Konrad Stępień, Sorry for not responding. Unfortunately, I have to say that the updates have been postponed, so I do not have an impact on the coming days. We haven't forgotten about the case, but we need more time.

So, now Jul 16. Any updates or when is the release expected? Because neither of the two options is available after 2 months. Meanwhile, the statement that if you need ASAP will be the col solution, but it didn't happen either.

In this case, we need to completely rewrite the component code to add support for custom templates. Unfortunately, we still can't provide an exact date of the release.

Karman40 pro premium priority commented 4 years ago

ok, but although you said on May 22 that 2 weeks max. Could you publish the other solution? (the col solution?)

Arkadiusz Idzikowski staff commented 4 years ago

The problem turned out to be a bit more complicated and we were unable to resolve it without breaking changes. We currently don't have an easy workaround for this problem.

Karman40 pro premium priority commented 4 years ago

thanks for the reply! According to them, can col- * be a short-term solution?

Arkadiusz Idzikowski staff commented 4 years ago

There were some problems with the workaround with 'col'. I can't confirm it yet, we need to make some additional checks.

Any updates?? Again, more then two weaks ...

Arkadiusz Idzikowski staff commented 4 years ago

We are still working on the fix release. We will let you know about the exact date of the release when we will have more information.

Have there been any developments?

Karman40 pro premium priority commented 4 years ago

Now, v10 is a next release? So this is work, but you ar not update docs?

Arkadiusz Idzikowski staff commented 4 years ago

The new version of the component wasn't added to the v10 update. As I mentioned in my previous comments, this feature requires us to write a component from scratch and to address many problems related to the new approach.

Dear MDB!

Is there a development in the case? I only ask because about 8 months ago they promised that 1-2 weeks and there will be a solution. There is also a solution on GITLAB that means about 30s of code, but it would be plenty for me, it can't be solved either, why?

I would like us to stop lying side by side and tell the truth, with concretes.

@Karman40
I thought the original problem from the GitLab issue was resolved after Konrad suggested the col styles update. We do not have to add temporary solutions on the component side in this case, because the images are styled using flexbox and it is possible to modify their position by changing the flexbox styling. Here is an example for 2 images in a row:

.mdb-lightbox figure {
  flex: 1 1 50%;
  max-width: 50%;
}

The new component is not ready for publication and we have postponed its development due to the issues with higher priority. We are not able to give an ETA for the release of the new version. The current version is stable and we are not getting any other reports of problems with this component.

Dear @Arkadiusz Idzikowski!

Sorry for the late reply, for some reason I didn't get notified of your message!

If I understand correctly, you can break the images into several columns with a small css modification, that's great, thank you!

By the way, I will also be interested in the new components and the first stable release of Angular MDB5. Is there anything you can already know about these?

@Karman40
