How do I change sidenav so it only collapses 80%?

Topic: How do I change sidenav so it only collapses 80%?

Hi,I am trying to build a sidenav using mdbootstrap. I am trying to make it so that when I toggle it, it ranges between 100% open and 20% open, so that when it is \"closed\" or hidden then it still shows the icons of my menu. Something like wordpress does with their menu. Therefore I need to override the original functionality of the MDB lib. At least I think thats what I have to do, but im not sure. How do I go about achieving this?

Dear worksonline, I'm sorry, but for now you're describing behavior which is unable to do. We haven't got such functionality. If you want to have it, you have to write it on your hand. You have to overwrite our scss styles in your custom stylesheet. But the problem would be with logic part of SideNav, because you're unable to overwrite it. Best Regards, Damian

I am totally willing to write the code myself, but you must have some guidelines on how to either extend or override components without having to rewrite the entire component or hack the mdb core files? For instance how do I override show() and hide()

Dear worksonline, You're unable to override show() and hide() methods. The only way I think is to copy sidenav directory to your components directory, and there modify it. I cannot provide you other suggestions, because I don't know a way to override those files. Best Regards, Damian
